Dear Jen,

Would you do Core Testing when developing pavement specs? Is that an additional cost? If so, how much?

Dear Anonymous:

Yes, we always recommend getting pavement cores done to verify the existing pavement thickness. It is a very important part of the development of the pavement resurfacing/reconstruction specifications. Pavement cores are performed at an additional cost.  We typically solicit bids and the Association selects the contractor. The prices range dependent on the firm and proximity to the community. We typically get estimates to perform 12 to 16 pavement cores anywhere between $1,000 and $1,500.
