Dear Jen,

Our walls are supposed to be fire rated, which is an exemption qualification.  What is the easiest way to determine / prove this if you do not have the as-builts?

Cathy

Dear Cathy:

Attic inspections must be performed at each building to verify the firewalls are in place, where they are installed, and how they are built to determine if they meet the DCA requirements.  Once the inspections are complete and you are in compliance, an Engineer will then prepare a signed and sealed letter with additional documentation necessary to apply for the exemption.
